KarTET – Syllabus, Pattern of Exam, Study Materials, Question Papers, Key Answers & More

Karnataka State Government will conduct KarTET exam to bring national standards and benchmark  in the recruitment process of teachers. KarTET is the exam which gives eligibility to become the teachers in the State.

 The Centralised Admission Cell (CAC), Office of the Commissioner of public instruction, Bangalore will conduct the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) Examination as per the directions of The Govt. of Karnataka.

KARTET is an eligibility test only and has no claim for recruitment.

Application Submission for KarTET

  • Candidates can apply online for KARTET through official website. Click Here to Apply
  • Candidate should fill in the information online and should upload JPEG images of photograph and signature while filling the online application form. (Photograph (size less than 50KB) and Signature (size less than 40 KB).
  • After completing the application submission and uploading all the relevant documents, the candidate should take a print of the online application containing the Register no. and other particulars of the candidate for the future reference.
  • Candidates can pay their fees in online mode only. Fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
  • Any information related to KARTET-2019 will be sent to the Candidates’ mobile phone or email. Hence the candidate should provide the mobile no. and email id (in use) of the candidate only.

Differently abled Students are exempted from Fees.

Pattern of examination

KARTET Examination will be consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers in KARTET Examination
Paper -I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
Paper- II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: If a person wants to become  a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) should appear for both Paper I and Paper II

Paper-I (for teaching classes I to V)
Duration of examination: Two-and-a half hours.

LANGUAGE OF THE QUESTION PAPER

The medium of question paper other than the languages shall be in English, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi.

QUALIFYING MARKS AND AWARD OF KARTET CERTIFICATE

  • The candidates belonging to General /2A/2B/3A/3B should secure a minimum of 60% to be eligible.
  • The candidates belonging to SC / ST / C-I, differently abled persons should secure a minimum of 55% to be eligible.
  • Electronic certificate will be issued for the candidates who will qualify in the KarTET exam

ELIGIBILITY 

(Paper-I) : Required minimum qualification (for teaching class 1 to 5)

PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education
(B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

(Paper -II) : Required minimum qualification (for teaching class 6 to 8)

Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education
(B.El.Ed).
OR
PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Final-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
